We met Ashnee when she participated in the Budding Brunels course with British Land at Clarges in January 2017. She is currently 17 and in lower sixth form studying for her International Baccalaureate.
After excelling on the Budding Brunels programme, she was offered a 1-week work experience placement with Squire and Partners over the Easter holidays. Squire and Partners is an award-winning architectural practice which has been designing and executing buildings on key sites in London and internationally. Ashee is naturally very creative, and was keen to find out more about a potential career in the Architectual space.
Ashnee's week included an Architectural focused site visit back to Clarges with the opportunity to meet and work with various employees at Squire & Partners including an interior designer. She was given a tour of the company office, shown examples of their previous work and learnt more about what they actually do on a day-to-day business. As part of her placement, Ashnee was given a week long project to design a reception desk to be used in the Clarges building in Mayfair where she participated in the Budding Builders course. She was introduced to both Sketchup and Photoshop which she used to create her very impressive final design.
A highlight of her week was being given the chance to see how different materials are used by Squire & Partners to create 3D models, and was tasked with creating a 3D model of her own reception desk design using Styrofoam.
