Our partnership with Dornan Engineering reaches new heights in 2025 🚀
Opening career doors with Dornan Engineering
We are delighted to celebrate our amazing partnership with Dornan Engineering, which has grown brilliantly in 2025. From raising crucial donations in aid of CYT to connecting our young people to transformative apprenticeship opportunities, Dornan have gone above and beyond in 2025 as a committed industry partner.
Dornan’s Annual Charity Golf Day in September was a true highlight of our partnership in 2025. Held at the stunning Essendon Country Club, the event brought together colleagues, partners and supporters for a day that perfectly blended friendly competition, generous fundraising, and genuine community spirit.
After a hearty breakfast, players headed out for a shotgun start on the 18-hole course, while others, including members of the CYT team, took part in a brilliantly run beginners’ golf clinic. For many of us, it was our first time picking up a golf club, and the relaxed atmosphere made it a fantastic way to get to know Dornan staff on a more personal level.
As the day continued, guests gathered in the clubhouse for dinner and a raffle, complete with an impressive table of prizes. The generosity in the room was unmistakable; raffle tickets were snapped up enthusiastically, all in support of CYT. Following rousing speeches by Ronan Keohane and Bryan White of Dornan, our CEO was honoured to address the guests, putting the day into context and sharing how much this support means for the young people we work with.
By the end of the event, an extraordinary £26,000 had been raised – a truly remarkable achievement, and one that will make a lasting difference and help us to support more young people into rewarding career pathways in 2026.
September’s Golf Day took place in the same week that Katarina, a young person supported on CYT’s Pathways to Professional Careers programme, was offered an exciting apprenticeship placement at Dornan Engineering! Having supported Katarina to develop her employability skills and confidence, and prepare for the competitive world of higher-level apprenticeships, we connected her to the opportunity at Dornan Engineering – a Level 6 apprenticeship in BIM. She excelled in the application process and was offered the role! Katarina is currently thriving in her apprenticeship and loving life at Dornan Engineering. Her story is an example of what can be achieved through committed partnerships between industry employers and CYT.

2025 was also the year that Dornan Engineering became an active partner in our five-year Broadgate Future Talent initiative. This programme is all about connecting local, underrepresented young people to the career opportunities made available by the Broadgate development in the City of London – establishing a model for how major London developments can be an engine for social mobility. In December, volunteers from Dornan supported our immersive Building Future Skills programme at Broadgate, offering their own expertise, insights and experience to inspire the young people to visualise their future career pathways in a positive and aspirational way.
Our relationship with Dornan is an example of what can be achieved when the industry comes together with the third sector, through a combination of fundraising and in-kind support, to create career opportunities and help young people to achieve their full potential, regardless of life circumstance. We’re so thankful to Dornan for being such an instrumental partner and cannot wait to see how our relationship develops in 2026 and beyond!
