Programmes inspiring future careers!

Pimlico Academy students take on Landsec’s Future Property School Programme to find out more about careers within the industry!

10 Year 12 students from Pimlico Academy recently took part in a 10-week programme, which was developed and facilitated by Landsec and held at their Victoria Offices. The programme is designed to develop young people’s knowledge of property development through an engaging programme of employer-led sessions. The young people thoroughly enjoyed engaging with volunteers from the Architecture, Marketing and Finance teams and gained a comprehensive understanding of the different parts of the business. The young people were also given an opportunity to put their knowledge of the industry into practice when they visited ‘The Forge’ site!

Students were tasked to explore ideas for how they would develop the Landsec/Sir Robert McAlpine site, ‘The Forge’. Students had to work collaboratively and present their ideas to a panel of volunteers from across the company. Employer-led programmes are an incredibly important tool to open up the working-world and careers for our young people, so they can experience what the industry can offer.

The team at Landsec were so impressed by the young people’s hard work and dedication throughout the programme, that two young people have been offered work experience. We look forward to sharing how they got on in the summer!
