Over 100 students build on their employability skills with a range of employers!
As part of the Pathways Pilot, delivered through our Careers Cluster project funded by the Greater London Authority and European Social Fund, over 100 Year 12 students at Ark Walworth Academy took part in an exciting day of employability skills!
Students took part in mock interviews, and especially for those young people who had never attended a mock interview before gave them a chance to put their interview skills to the test and receive constructive feedback on their technique.
Students also attended a careers networking session, where they were introduced to 14 industry professionals from a variety of roles, which ranged from data services, social value, site management, account management, corporate, architecture and surveying. The young people thoroughly enjoyed finding out more about their roles!
‘I found the session insightful, and I really enjoyed meeting and networking with a variety of individuals from different roles’- Student.
Both sessions offered the young people a unique opportunity to build their employability skills and find out more about the world of work and a variety of roles. We are delighted to have delivered this opportunity to over 100 young people and we hope that this has helped them to think about and prepare for their next steps!
“We’re working with Construction Youth Trust on a range of initiatives to encourage young people to pursue a career in the built environment and make them aware of opportunities in our industry. It was great to meet the talented pupils at Ark Walworth Academy, hear about their career ambitions and support them in honing their networking skills in preparation for future work experience opportunities and life after education.”- Holly Bryden, senior account manager at Camargue.
