Keepmoat visit Training Centre for National Apprenticeship Week

In support of National Apprenticeship Week, three of Keepmoat’s apprentices gave a talk to our students in Bermondsey.

Keepmoat are a fast growing, top 10 UK housing and construction company, and one of our most valued partners at the Trust. They design, build, refurbish and regenerate places to improve economic and social outcomes for people.
It is up to companies like Keepmoat to work with organisations like the Trust to bring more young people in, to invest consistently in training and to develop the specific skills required today.

At Keepmoat, one of their main aims is to lead the way in delivering award winning apprenticeship standards that satisfy the needs of their business, industry and career aspirations of young people looking for a way into construction.

In support of the annual National Apprenticeship Week, three of Keepmoat’s apprentices attended the Construction Youth Trust Training Centre in Bermondsey with Trainee, Apprenticeship and Graduate Development Officer, Suzanne Bingham. Our group of young people on the Budding Builders course heard first hand experiences from the apprentices on where their journeys started, how they went about finding their courses and what they do.

The students were very engaged and asked lots of relevant questions. Our tutors Wendy and Pearl were delighted with what they said to be the most engaged they had seen any of their groups. The presentation was delivered naturally and with much empathy.

We would like to thank Keepmoat for their time and hope that the apprentices inspired our students and proved that there is a clear pathway into careers in construction.

If you are interested in finding out more about careers in the trades, we are running the Budding Builders course on a regular basis and welcome young people from all London boroughs who are currently looking to gain their Level 1 in Health & Safety, a CSCS card, and find employment or training.
