Construction Youth Trust has celebrated its 19th Annual Christmas Concert at the fantastic Carpenters' Hall.
Over 150 guests from throughout the industry were welcomed by Rod Bennion, Chairman of Trustees and Christine Townley, Director, to join the Trust for drinks, dinner and music as we celebrated the end of our 50th year of helping young people into training, education and employment in construction.
Music was provided by the Royal College of Music Junior Department Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Chris Hirons and featuring David Mitchell, and this year's programme included a wonderful selection from Tchaikovsky, Grainger, Vivaldi, Tárrega, Ireland and Anderson.
After the concert Rod Bennion spoke of the Trust's work in 2011 and thanked the Trust's supporters, and Christine Townley introduced guests to young beneficiary Tobi Bello who spoke of his time attending one of our Budding Brunels Plus programmes and the subsequent work experience placement he secured at Tarmac as a result.
After dinner guests enjoyed a much anticipated auction and raffle with prizes including tickets to a Formula One Grand Prix, Apple iPad, Tea at The Ritz, Fortnum and Mason hampers, Green & Blacks chocolates and a stylist appointment at Decadence salon in London.
This year's Annual Christmas Concert was generously supported by WT Partnership, with donations from Alandale, Balfour Beatty, Bam, Concerto, EMCOR, Rider Levett Bucknall, and Urbanis.
