Construction Youth Trust Shortlisted for CEW Awards

Construction Youth Trust has been shortlisted in two categories for the Constructing Excellence in Wales Awards 2011.

The categories for which the Trust has been recognised are ‘Innovation’ and ‘Leadership & People Development’ for the highly successful Real Apprentice programme in South Wales.

Building Bridges in Partnership with Tai Calon

Seven young Blaenau Gwent residents have recently taken part in a filmed project designed to help them develop new skills and enter into employment in the construction industry.

Connaught searches for The Real Apprentice

The Construction Youth Trust and Connaught Partnerships are starting a search in South Wales for the next "real" apprentice and is inviting local people to showcase their talent and hunger for a career in the construction industry.

Six trainees will have a unique opportunity to gain hands on experience and qualifications over a ten week period before one person is selected for an apprenticeship with Connaught Partnerships.

Building a winning future for young people

The Construction Youth Trust is celebrating today after winning £50,000 of Big Lottery Fund money from The People’s Millions TV contest in Wales. The Trust scored the highest number of runner-up votes during voting last week for our project “The Real Apprentice, You’re Hired” and has been awarded a bonus grant of £50,000 making us the fifth and final winner of this year’s competition.

Construction Youth Trust welcomes industry support in Wales

On 10th March 2009 the Construction Youth Trust hosted a drinks reception in Wales. The reception was held at the St David’s Partnership Offices in Southgate House, Wood Street, Cardiff. Guests heard from Norman White, St David’s 2 Deputy Project Director who gave an overview of the St David’s 2 scheme. Guests also hade the opportunity to see the scale model of the project and view the progress of the site and panoramic views of Cardiff from the reception room on the 9th floor.

Deputy Minister for Regeneration Leighton Andrews AM Launches Construction in Communities Programme

The Construction Youth Trust and Penrhys Partnership welcomed Deputy Minister for Regeneration Leighton Andrews AM to launch the Construction in Communities - Mobile Classroom in Rhondda Cynon Taf.

The Launch took place on Friday 10th October at the Canolfan Rhys Arts and Education Centre, Penrhys. We were delighted that both Leighton Andrews AM and Councillor Robert Smith was present at the event.
