Young Lambeth residents discover local construction opportunities!

On our recent online world-of-work programme, funded by Opportunity Lambeth, we connected 22 young people with local Lambeth employers and opportunities in Lambeth!

Over the course of 12 days young people developed their employability skills, networked with industry professionals, and gained industry qualifications.

When Shahnawaz joined our Higher Level and Degree Apprenticeship programme in 2019 we were immediately struck by his drive and motivation. He was studying for his Level 3 Advanced Technical Diploma in Construction & the Built Environment and A-Level Maths qualifications and came to us with a career goal in mind, to be a Quantity Surveyor. Providing online and technical support for those in need

Our laptop loan scheme ensures that none of our young people miss out on vital careers support!

To ensure that as many young people as possible are able to benefit from our online sessions, no matter their circumstance, the Trust secured funding from the London Community Response Fund’s ‘Delivering Differently’ grant for 30 laptops, along with data packages and dongles, which can be loaned to young people in need.

Exploring the virtual world of remote interviews with Langley Waterproofing Systems Ltd!

2020 has seen many young people miss out on opportunities for training and work experience due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

We have been working to adapt our mode of delivery in response to these challenges, and have developed a range of remote delivery resources, including Mock Interviews, to add to our already established face-to-face sessions. A Change of Chairman at Construction Youth Trust

After six years of chairmanship at the Trust, we say a fond farewell to Andy Wates and welcome in our new Chairman, Edward McAlpine.

It is with gratitude for all his support that we say goodbye to Andy Wates. We have valued his direction and dedication to the Trust over the last six years.

During his time as Chairman, Andy has helped the Trust adapt to new challenges and seen our reach grow to 25,891 young people in 2019. Andy will always remain a firm friend of the Trust and we look forward to the new ways in which we will work together.
