Today is a very sad day at the Trust as the fabulous Nicola Mason is leaving us for pastures new.

Nicola has always been an inspiration with her level of hard work and passion. Her dedication to the young people she works with on a daily basis is unrivalled - they are always her top priority with their progression and well-being constantly as the focus of her work.

Construction businesses are creating great opportunities for young people – but the news isn’t always getting out. The Duke of Gloucester Young Achievers Scheme spreads the word by promoting emerging talent and showing off what employers have to offer.

One of the highlights of my year is judging the Duke of Gloucester’s Young Achievers Scheme for Construction Youth Trust. By celebrating the emerging industry talent pool, the scheme highlights how construction businesses create great opportunities for people to fulfil their potential.

As the year draws to a close, we reflect on some of our highlights from 2015.

From all of us at Construction Youth Trust, we would like to wish all our supporters a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. It has been a fantastic year, and we couldn’t have done it without you. We have achieved so much this year and have helped to educate, train and inspire many young people about careers in the construction industry. Routes Into Construction apprenticeship success with WJ

After completing a two week work experience placement with WJ, Ryan Weston has been offered a road marking apprenticeship.

WJ has been working with Construction Youth Trust on the Routes Into Construction programme to provide work placements for young people based at WJ’s office in Croydon and working at sites throughout London.

Female Trainees support West Hampstead Women’s Centre

Female Camden residents take part in a Budding Builders carpentry course at Kings Cross Construction Skills Centre

After four weeks of training, three Camden women have successfully completed a Budding Builders Carpentry course. During their time with the Trust trainees gained an OCN London Level 1 Health and Safety in a Construction Environment. Alongside the theory work the trainees had an opportunity to expand their practical skills by participating in a carpentry workshop. Comedian Susan Calman will help young achievers celebrate

We are delighted to announce that comedian Susan Calman is confirmed as the host for the 5th annual awards The Duke of Gloucester's Young Achievers Scheme 2016.

Susan Calman is a stand up comic, writer and actress and a regular on radio 4 and our TV screens. The application deadline is fast approaching for Construction Youth Trust’s 5th annual awards scheme The Duke of Gloucester's Young Achievers Scheme 2016.

The Duke of Gloucester's Young Achievers scheme is a great opportunity for exceptional young professionals under 30 working in construction and the built environment to be commended and celebrated for their achievements.
