Helping more young Londoners to build a career in the construction industry

The Construction Youth Trust is delighted to announce the successful completion of our Formwork Pre-Apprenticeship programme, run in partnership with Bouygues UK and the National Construction College. The two week scheme gave a number of young residents from Tower Hamlets the chance to learn new skills and find out more about life as a specialist formwork operative.

Partnership helps young people lay foundation for construction careers

The Youth Justice Board (YJB) is linking up with the Construction Youth Trust to help young people who have offended find employment and get their lives back on track.

Calling Islington's "Budding Builders"

The Construction Youth Trust is appealing for young people interested in pursuing a career in the construction industry to come forward and apply to take part in an exciting employment geared training programme taking place in December 2009.

The scheme is funded by Islington Council and is aimed at young Islington residents between the age of 16 and 24. The programme will take 12 individuals and place them on an intensive 3 week training course, and from there onto further training and work placements. This training will include;

Mobile Classroom Brings Construction to Manchester Schools

To combat the shortage of practical construction related courses in Manchester schools the Construction Youth Trust has been delivering city and guilds qualifications through a mobile construction classroom. The Mobile classroom offer students a hand on approach to learning.

The van is about to embark on its first year funded by the schools having operated on a trail bases for half of the last academic year.
