Nine students from our Budding Builders training programme in Bermondsey visited a local Linden Homes housing development.
Construction Youth Trust recently completed its fourth site visit at the Linden Homes housing development on Grange Walk in Bermondsey, a short walk from the Budding Builders Training Centre on Drummond Road. Over the last six months students from various course cohorts have been able to see the site develop from ground level to first fitting.
Site Manager Gary Stent took the students on a whistle-stop tour of the site, allowing them to take in everything from ground work to electrical installation. Being able to see all of these trades in action on a real live site was an incredibly valuable experience to the students, many of whom had never set foot on a site before. Some of the participants who were interested to know more about particular career paths in the industry were able to speak directly to some of the tradespeople working on site.
The nine students who participated were part of a group of eleven enrolled on a Budding Builders course at The Construction Youth Trust’s Training Centre in Bermondsey. The students will shortly be completing their Level 1 Health and Safety, and are working towards achieving their CSCS cards.
