To combat the shortage of practical construction related courses in Manchester schools the Construction Youth Trust has been delivering city and guilds qualifications through a mobile construction classroom. The Mobile classroom offer students a hand on approach to learning.
The van is about to embark on its first year funded by the schools having operated on a trail bases for half of the last academic year.
When the van is not busy in the classroom it can be found working with community engagement projects to introduce construction to those who might otherwise have never considered it.
Mobile Classroom Tutor Perry Oakly said “The van encourages those Students who usually shy away from academically based subjects to participate and enjoy learning”.
