Former Trustee David Bucknall dies age 76

We are sad to hear about the news of the death of our former trustee David Bucknall, OBE, who died earlier this week aged 76.

David was a leading figure in the construction industry running property and construction practice Rider Levett Bucknall for over 50 years. Some of his more famous contributions to the world of construction included the Birmingham Symphony Hall International Convention Centre and his involvement in the restoration of Windsor Castle following the 1992 fire.

Christine Townley, Executive Director said:

we were terribly sad to hear about David's death. The staff and trustees are grateful for the time and effort David put into Construction Youth Trust and his time as a trustee oversaw some of our biggest growth as a charity. He remained a great friend to the Trust and we'll always be grateful for his dedication to the efforts of enabling more young people to join the industry and his passion for ensuring there were more opportunities available. He will be sadly missed and our thoughts are with his family.

David was trustee of the Trust from May 2009 to May 2011. He will be sorely missed.
