About the Trust
Construction Youth Trust is a registered charity working with young people to help them access training, education and employment opportunities in construction.
How We Work
Construction Youth Trust has a good understanding of local communities and the needs of young people. Coupled with solid experience of working in partnership with training and educational institutions, and most importantly links with key construction industry employers, this allows us to provide young people with relevant, accurate and up to date advice, training and support. Throughout all of our programmes the direct involvement and expertise of our industry partners’ is key to supporting young peoples’ journey to work.
The Trust has developed a regional framework to manage and deliver its programmes effectively. This allows us to reach out to young people in need throughout the country and provide customised support linked to local labour market needs and opportunities.
Construction Youth Trust supports young people whose journey to work can be challenging due to barriers relating to their financial circumstances, lack of awareness of opportunities, low self-esteem, gender or ethnicity.
We support young people’s journey to work through an integrated service that enables young people to
raise their industry awareness and aspirations
increase their confidence
obtain construction and employability skills
acquire experience in the industry
receive financial support, career advice and guidance and mentoring
access training and employment opportunities.
The Trust achieves its goals by undertaking a number of programmes ranging from individual bursaries to construction skills courses, and from work placement schemes to guidance sessions.
By helping individuals to gain training and employment the Trust's work effectively tackles social exclusion and related disadvantage.
The Trust is uniquely placed to help individuals and communities by delivering local programmes and drawing on wide-ranging contacts from within the UK construction industry. The charity's Trustee body is made up of senior figures within the sector, and the Trust's staff have solid expertise in working with young people and their communities.
