The History of the Trust
The Construction Industry Youth Trust was originally setup in 1961 by members of the construction industry and allied professions to help fund the building of educational centres to teach construction skills.
|
Since then our name has changed to the Construction Youth Trust and we have evolved to run a number of programmes ranging from individual bursaries to construction skills courses, and from work placement schemes to guidance sessions. In 2009 the Trust worked with 3500 young people.
Since 2004 we have worked with ConstructionSkills, the Sector Skills Council for Construction, to encourage and support greater numbers of women and ethnic minorities into the construction industry.
As a charity we are continuing to expand and diversify.
